Cupertino Garage Sale

這是今天 Cupertino Garage Sale 的戰利品。許多去年擺攤的家庭、今年照樣熱情參與，他們的孩子又大了一年，以後用不到的東西又拿出來賣了。

小朋友的玩具、衣服、英文圖書、42本從台灣搬來的中文童書、還有雙現在露露還不能穿的新鞋:

Gray card vs. baby skin

Gray cards are to provide a standard reference for exposure in photography. The color, 18% gray, is an empirical result. The card comes with two sides, one side is 18% gray for exposure measurement, the other side is white for white balance calibration.

This is a sample of 18% gray color.You can see how much it could differ from a baby skin. The picture could be under exposed if I only do a point and shot on my daughter's face. I believe most parents have no time to cut in a gray card to calibrate the shooting-star moment. I usually need to add +1/3~+2/3 level up or just do an exposure lock on the nearby gray area to get better exposure.

BBQ

去年我們家忙女兒新生，烤肉爐在前年夏天推進車庫後，到今天才重見天日。這個週六 (Labor day long weekend)，我們家主辨烤肉聯誼，本次參加人數13大人、5小孩。

本日菜單:
鳳梨香菇牛肉串、牛小排、培根蘆筍卷、檸檬樽魚、辣豬肉、雞心串、辣雞翅、烤香腸、甜不辣、豬血糕、蔬菜包。刨冰+仙草、粉圓、綠豆、芋頭。還有喝不完的飲料、汽水、Wine，吃不完的手工布丁、蛋糕。感謝大家的熱心支援。
最後大家真的是飽到不行、再加打包帶走。

Stand Up

露露這個禮拜開始能自己抓著旁邊的東西站了起來。仍是沒有力氣移動小腳，但是能站得高人一等，她總是露出興奮的神情，小嘴「噗噗噗」的歡呼，像是期待能再看遠一點。

Texas Roadhouse

今天是八月八號父親節，和其他爸爸們、媽媽們、太太們、孕婦們、孩子們一行十幾個人去Union City 的 Texas Roadhouse。這是家美國中部知名的連鎖牛排館，通常門口的等待區會擺上一大桶帶殼的花生供客人無限取用。桌上也會擺了一桶桶的花生，可以邊嗑花生邊聊天。

Ribeyes+Ribs, Baked Potato+Marshmallow, Fried Onion
整桶的花生，可隨意丟在店內地上，粗曠的牛仔風格。服務員每隔半個小時會在店裡集合襯著節奏愉快的音樂跳舞。
總結:純美式牛排風格、聚餐聊天的好地方。Ribs 和 Sirloin Steak 肉嫩多汁，但 Ribeyes 太鹹(可能表面抹太多鹽)。

Turkey on fence

A turkey family flew to our fence this morning. We see them walk around in the neighborhood once in a while, but I did not expect they can fly this high. They seem relaxing and having fun.
