耶誕節

今天是露露的第一個耶誕節、也是我們家第一次三個人的耶誕節。露露長大了、更愛吃了、更可愛了、更愛人家抱了。

小露露

我們家的露露只有小肚子餓了才會唧唧哼哼，再不給喝就會哭出聲來。姑奶奶只要喝飽了，poo-poo一大噗在褲子裡都沒有關係。

印入眼簾的是全身紅通通的女兒，這十個月的想像轉換成實體。心中的激動是期待、是思念、是真實的。沒有辨法把視線從她的身上移開，我決定用我的生命來守護她一生的健康和快樂。

露露人生的第一步

Install Softener

Our softener left by previous owner has been acting weird for several months. It eventually died last month. We paid $75 to ask a Sears guy gave us a repair quotation of $250. In the end, we decided to buy a new water softener from Sears and install it by myself.
It is not that hard with all the pipes installed. What I need to do is reconnecting two main streams and two drains. Remember to shut off the main water supply, otherwise my front yard could be a swimming pool if something broken.
Ok! $230 installation fee is saved.

Campbell Garage Sale

這個週末去的是 Campbell 的 Garage Sale。這個手工製的木箱椅是今天最大的收獲，義賣的銀髮阿姨們也搞不清楚價格，就五塊錢賣給我們了。

Cupertino Garage Sale

今天星期六一大早去 Cupertino City 的 聯合 Garage Sale。我們家在前一天就已經擬定好了選購動線，今天的目標是妹妹一歲前的用品和小衣服。這個一年一度的 Garage Sale 活動辨的很大，每一家想要賣掉什麼東西列在了一張14頁的住址清單上。很多家的小孩大了，用不到的東西自然不想留在家裡佔位子。

City of Cupertino Garage Sale

今天的戰利品是妹妹的 covertable crib + 床墊、小衣服、寶寶背架、小玩具。這些一歲多小朋友用的東西在很短的時間年就只得擺在車庫不能用了，這些東西都還很新，只要不是放在嘴裡的都沒什麼關係。最重要的是一定要起得早，新的東西當然都給早到的人先挑走囉。

Garage Sale 快賣筆記:
1) 分類清楚、東西乾淨很重要。真的太舊的東西就標個認命的價錢賣了吧。
2) 賣什麼東西多少錢要寫清楚，能做個字大一點的小海報就更好了。這次聯合Garage Sale有兩三百家，我們最後懶得下車看，就慢慢開車坐在車上當遊車河。
3) 東西要儘量擺在太陽下，放在車庫裡暗暗的，開車過去時看不太清楚。沒看到自然也就不會下車來看了。
4) 拍賣三天前將待賣物品拍照上網站打個廣告介紹一下，讓有興趣的人可以自行去查查市價。

動感妹妹

剛剛第一次摸到我們家妹妹的胎動。老婆這兩週來都感覺得到妹妹在肚子裡面活動，醫生說我大概要再二三週才會摸得到胎動。不過今天妹妹想跟爸爸打招呼，終於讓我感到從裡面遠遠傳來的動作，應該是用小腳跟我說「嗨」吧。

羊膜穿刺

今天和老婆去做羊膜穿刺，超音波看到我們的寶寶是個漂亮的妹妹。她很有活力的在媽媽的肚子裡動來動去的，我們倆都很感動、也很高興。老婆說要把她教成有氣質的淑女，我也決定了以後要帶她上天下海到處去冒險。

Dyson DC25 Ball Upright Vacuum

The price of the vacuum did scare us. But it does very good job on cleaning the dirt and long hair of my cat. We had the tank full four times when the first time we vacuumed our house with it. The orange ball also encapsulates an 11A motor, lowering the center of gravity for easier movement. I think it is relatively quiet for its suction power. I used to smell dust with old bag vacuum, but the Dyson vacuum seems to converge all dust in the tank. One thing I will suggest is the head for stair cleaning can be wider, it will make the cleaning more efficient. With the BB&B's 20%-off coupon, the deal is not that scary for what it can clean.

Buca Di Beppo Italian Restaurant

今天老婆想吃義大利餐，我們晚上就去了這家在 Oakridge Mall 裡的 Buca restarant。我們也不是第一次來了，老婆已經在網路上把想吃的菜都選好，連$10元網路折價券都印出來了。這家餐廳的食物份量很大，味道也很好，所以我們都吃得很高興，吃不完的還帶走哩。

早上咪咪在樓梯間翻來翻去和主人說早安。

Additional Receptacle

	We are buying a toilet bidet, but currently there is no receptacle in our toilet room. I need to wire the connection from the existing switch on the other side of the wall.
	Drill a hole in the middle first to make sure I have the location right. Then drill big holes on the four corners for jig saw.
	Cut a big hole to accommodate switch box. The cord is 14AWG/2 with ground, extended from the switch on the other side. Wider than 14AWG is needed to fulfill regulation.
	Done.
	The receptacle is ready to go!

寶寶十三週

今天去看寶寶囉，十三週有七公分大了，心跳每分鐘160下，醫生說頭好壯壯啦。寶寶的頭很大，手和腳都看得見了，還有半透明的脊椎。身體會像蝦子一樣一屈一屈的動著說。

My baby

今天看到寶寶完整的外型，雖然只有九週大，不過已經長得很漂亮了。第一次看到寶寶的心跳快速地愽動時，自己的心跳也跟著快了起來。希望媽媽和寶寶都能健康。Happy Mother's Day for Mother-to-be, Honey.

Grass Trimmer/Edger

This is the new toy I bought today for our yard. The Blacker/Decker 2-in-1 grass trimmer/edger is electric-powered by a 7.2A motor. It has been a long time the edge of our yard shows a NATURE grown style, I decide to give it a new look.

	Eventually the pile of mailbox is not covered by grass anymore. I realize the AT&T concrete lid is a rectangular shape after some cleaning. But I would need more practice, kind of ugly the edges...
	Ok, this one is much better. The trimmer spool extends automatically when it is worn too short. I do not need to stop the machine to replace or adjust it, quite convenient.

我們家的咪咪

我們家的貓英文名字是「Mimi」，中文名字是「踏雪」，因為她的胸腹和四足的毛都是白色的，就像是沾了雪花一樣。不過我們家的貓和這個中文名字的氣質好像不太合說...

耶誕假期的時候爬到我家二樓的屋頂去探險，後街冬天的景色還不錯。鄰居屋頂連綿疊疊我家老婆在後院整理花草

便宜卡片

昨天傍晚我們發現一家快關門的 Rite Aid 在拋售卡片，昨天已經買了十張。但是老婆覺得不太過癮，所以今天下午又自己殺去那家店在卡片堆裡蹲了二個多小時，又買了五十張回來。平常三四塊美金的卡片現在只要一張 10 cent，真的是很划算。可愛的老婆已經把未來兩三年的所有節日要用的卡片全買了，她說要每個月寫卡片給我，也讓我寫給她，因為她把我的份也買齊了...嗚...

要好相機嗎?

其實寫網誌也不用太好的相機。想起 1995 年在學校寫網頁的時候，那時大家都用撥接數據機，開網頁稍微等久一點就懶得看了，上傳還要拼命把相片縮圖。以前 HTML, CGI, 轉圖都得自己來，現在還真是蠻方便的說。

ETEN X800 & Dopod 818pro

介紹一下十二月回台灣出差時買的 PDA 手機，倚天X800。倚天出了許多手持系統、掌上型股票機，這款手機算是殺手級的規格。內建SiRF III GPS、WLAN 11bg、藍牙2.0、二百萬相素自動對焦、3G通話、Samsung 500MHz CPU、640x480 螢幕。不過，倚天塞了太多不需要的軟體在這支手機裡，結果手機開了幾個常用的程式後，反應速度會越來越慢。

在網路上爬了一陣子之後，將 X800 的內建靭體用其他高手提供的ROM重灌。程式最佳化之後，它又活跳跳了起來。右邊是在 Amazon 買的 Bluetooth 立體聲耳機，聽音樂音質很讚喔。

所以我的多普達818Pro 就由老婆接收啦。宏達電 HTC 在手機軟硬設計一直有著很好的水準，省電、操作順暢。內建的 CPU TI OMAP 850 擁有另一個 Core for GSM，使通話的部份特別流暢不容易受到程式執行的影響。不過有許多人會值疑這顆 CPU 只有 200MHz 不夠快，沒辨法執行運算太複雜的程式，例如 Skype Mobile。其實這顆 CPU 有超頻程式，在執行運算量大的軟體或遊戲時可以對某單一程式作超頻，在240MHz 時使用 Skype 通話品質跟在電腦上一樣。手機平常操作的時候是 200MHz clock，所以比其它 Intel 400MHz PDA 省電多。

不過這支2006年的機器內建的是 Windows Mobile 5.0，最近將它換上繁體 WM 6.0 的 ROM 後，它又跟新的一樣啦~

這支手機沒有內建GPS，所以這個SiRF III 的藍牙GPS接收器可以和手機一起使用，充電後可以連續使用十五個小時。

版面顏色

還在熟悉新環境，顏色和版面都得慢慢調整。

老婆說，因為我們家不寫部落格，所以不用買太好的數位相機。所以我決定寫個部落格，那應該就可以買新的玩具了吧，哈哈。
